April 07, 2022, Malayan Towage and Salvage Corporation successfully completed the Wreck Removal of Subic Drydock Corporation’s “AFDM 5” floating drydock. The AFDM 5 was located at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and sunk in June 2018 as the result of a power failure. The AFDM 5 was a circa 1944 built 10,000 TLC (Total Lifting Capacity) floating drydock. February 12, 2021, Malayan Towage and Salvage Corporation (MTSC) safely completed the salvage of the fast ferry, St. Domic-1. The vessel sank in Batangas Bay and was blocking the approach to a commercial terminal. MTSC removed the wreck from the seabed by cutting the vessel into smaller sections and lifting those pieces using a 100-metric ton floating crane onto MTSC’s 1,900 DWT barge.
