AFDM 5 Wreck Removal

April 07, 2022, Malayan Towage and Salvage Corporation successfully completed the Wreck Removal of Subic Drydock Corporation’s “AFDM 5” floating drydock. The AFDM 5 was located at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and sunk in June 2018 as the result of a power failure. The AFDM 5 was a circa 1944 built 10,000 TLC (Total Lifting Capacity) floating drydock.
The Wreck Removal was awarded to MTSC in June 2021 and the successful completion was a 24/7 operation which involved highly specialized floating assets and personnel. The operation was closely coordinated with SBMA and the Philippine Coast Guard.
