LNG Transshipment In Subic Bay
On August 2, 2020, Malayan Towage and Salvage Corp.-Subic (MTSC-Subic) provided harbor towage services to two LNG tankers at anchorage in Subic Bay. The tankers, M/T LNG Methane Shirley Elizabeth and M/T LNG Lerici, engaged in ship-to-ship transfer of liquefied natural gas cargo. A MTSC tug was also deployed for tending services during the ship-to-ship operations as part of the safety protocol during cargo transfer.
MTSC-Subic, continues to be the towage company of choice for China-based JOVO, the LNG cargo owner. JOVO has exclusively used MTSC-Subic's tugs since the STS operations commenced in 2017 in Subic Bay.
