MTSC Assists The First LNG Ship To Ship Transfer (STS) In The Philippines
After successfully supporting the biggest iron ore transshipment worldwide with Vale at Subic in 2014, MTSC added another milestone as the premier tug services provider at SBMA when it successfully executed the first LNG Ship To Ship Transfer (STS) of the JOVO Group on April 27, 2017 at Subic. MTSC dispatched MT “Lidagat” (5,000HP), MT “Defiance” (4,400HP), MT “Malasugui-1” (3,500 HP) and MT “Ilongo” (2,200HP) to support the operation of the mother vessel, the 105,335 GRT Malaysian flagged LNG carrier “SERI BAKTI” from Australia. The mother vessel will initially conduct two STS operations per month and volumes are anticipated to increase to six STS by the 3rd quarter of this year.
